A mini music festival proved a ‘Summer Sensation’ at Morecambe’s main market.

From poetry to classical acoustic guitar players, crowds at the Festival Market enjoyed several performances at Summer Sensations on September 2.

Morecambe singer and songwriter, Joe McCorrison, launched the event and played some tracks from his first album Try as you Might.

Joe Hasslam, a local poet, commanded the crowd with his striking words and delivery while Kris Clark just happened to be passing through the market and stumbled across the event and asked to take part.

Kris from Blackpool gave a new twist to existing songs with a borrowed acoustic guitar.

Renowned classical guitarist Jon Gjylaci performed a selection of classical, Latin and jazz music and budding singer-songwriter David Hanmer played a few cover versions plus one of his own.

The final act of the day came from Gordon Roberts who brought his ukulele banjo to the event and wowed the audience with his unique sound.

Summer Sensations has taken place throughout summer at the Festival Market with help from Morecambe Town Council and equipment supplied by The Beat Offended.
