OUR Motor Show is just one part of a fantastic bumper weekend of entertainment in Morecambe featuring four major family events on the promenade.
The seafront will be alive this Saturday and Sunday, July 7 and 8, with exciting events for all the family, including the Morecambe Jazz festival, the Festival Market Fun weekend and the Punch and Judy festival.
The Punch and Judy event is being held to mark Mr Punch’s 350th birthday.
Punch and Judy performances are as follows: Saturday: Midland Hotel – 11am, 1pm; Arndale Centre – 3.30pm; West End Gardens – 10am, noon, 2pm; Festival Market – 11.30am, 1.30pm, 3.30pm.
Sunday: Midland Hotel – 11am, noon, 2pm; Happy Mount Park – 11am, 1pm, 3pm; Festival Market – 11.30am, 1.30pm, 3.30pm.
The Festival Market Fun Weekend will see performances by the Astral Circus, a bouncy castle, climbing wall, live music and dance displays on Saturday and Sunday.
And Morecambe Jazz, the town’s annual jazz music festival, starts this Friday night (July 6) at the York Hotel with the Matt Robinson Blues Sextet playing Miles Davis and Carbon Funkprint.
Music continues on Saturday from noon to 5pm at the Winter Gardens with the LCCS Band, a Frank Sinatra tribute and the Lune Valley Jazz Band, then from 7pm to midnight with an intimate gig at The Crown with the Eliza Ramsey Quartet.
Morecambe Jazz concludes this Sunday at The Platform from noon to 5pm with Boogie Bill’s Billionaires, the Brian Acton Quartet, local big band Dizzy Hack and the Rhino Horns and the LRGS Big Band.
