PLANS to build three wind turbines at Heysham Port have been put on the backburner for six months.
Developers Peel Wind Farms (Heysham Ltd) have been asked to carry out further work before Lancaster City Council planners will give the scheme the green light.
The turbines would be up to 125 metres high and located on the north quay at Heysham Harbour. Many Heysham residents have objected to the scheme.
A spokeswoman for Lancaster City Council said: “Peel Wind Farms (Heysham) Ltd is working with adjoining landowners in order to review environmental, ecological and practical implications of its proposals. This additional work may take about six months to complete.
