IN a parallel universe, Lancaster band The Lovely Eggs would “probably be number one”.
But don’t take our word for it, believe the words of Huw Stephens.
The Radio 1 DJ has picked The Eggs as one his bands to watch for 2012 in top-selling lads’ mag FHM.
A big fan of the band, Stephens describes husband-and-wife duo Dave and Holly Blackwell as “a very interesting band from up north”.
“I’ve never come across a group like them,” said the Welsh radio host.
“Their lyrics and character...and the music’s just really quirky...in a really good way.
“It’s best summed up in the title of a recent single of theirs: I Like Birds (But I Like Other Animals Too).”
