An after school and breakfast club has been judged as outstanding by Ofsted in their recent inspection.
Over Kellet After School and Breakfast Club is based at Wilson’s Endowed CE School in Over Kellet opened in September 2001 and since then has welcomed children from the school as well as neighbours at Nether School and the Over Kellet Playgroup.
In the last twelve months pupils from the three schools in Carnforth have also begun using the Over Kellet After School Childcare when a club closed in the town.
Inspectors reported that the children have a thoroughly enjoyable time in the club, recognising that the children access extensive resources and activities so that they can follow their individual interests.
The inspection report described the club as a warm welcoming place for children to relax after a day at school and noted that the children were continually cared for in a safe and secure environment.
Ofsted inspector, Sandra Harwood commented in the report : “Children’s enthusiasm to attend the club is shown in the way they bound excitedly into the club. Staff are extremely well qualified and committed.’
Headteacher and club director, Jo Williams said : “We work hard to provide a happy and safe environment for the children attending the club.
“I am thrilled for the club that Ofsted have recognised how much the children enjoy the club and how well cared for they are.
“We aim to cherish the children and give them a fun time with us.’
