Children can have half term fun in October

A wide variety of sports, arts and spooky activities is being offered by Lancaster City Council during the October half term holiday (October 28 - November 2) for youngsters aged between four and 16-years-old.

Exciting workshops and activities on offer include stunt scooter skills, urban treasure hunts and a crazy inflatable Halloween party at Salt Ayre swimming pool. Old favourites such as cycling and archery plus extreme sports such as snowboarding and skiing are also on offer.

New for this half term are a whole range of activities that anyone can enjoy such as FIFA 14 Xbox / 5 a side football challenge, zoo keeping at Williamson Park plus a range of swimming activities held at Carnforth and Heysham swimming pools.

All the activities are listed in the holiday activity programme booklet that can be picked up from any council venue and also includes information about exciting activities taking place in Lancaster museums, The Dukes and Lancaster Castle.

This half term, local families are being encouraged to sign up to receive the booklet via email so they can receive holiday activity information every school holiday.

Places can be booked and paid for now at Salt Ayre Sports Centre, Monday to Friday from 8am to 9pm (from 8am to 6pm on Saturday and Sunday).
