TWO friends are paying an unusual tribute to a much-loved cafe boss by losing weight for charity.

TWO friends are paying an unusual tribute to a much-loved cafe boss by losing weight for charity.

Lee Robinson and Jason Walker had lost three-and-a-half stones between them since going on a sponsored diet in memory of Lee’s brother, Steve Weatherhead.

Steve, owner of Rita’s Cafe on Morecambe promenade, died in January after bravely battling a brain tumour.

Staff and customers of the cafe, and Steve’s family and friends continue to raise funds for the Rosemere Cancer Foundation, the Preston-based charity which supported Steve during his illness.

Lee was 13 stone 7lbs when he began dieting and has now dropped to 11 stones 13lbs, while painter and decorator Jason has so far lost two stones.

The pair have raised over £1,000.
