Dumped guinea pigs found by police are rehomed
Police checking an area of Heysham Moss for arsonists found a guinea pig dumped in a cardboard box.
A local resident said she had seen a man moments before walking down the same lane and returning empty handed.
Whilst talking with the resident on Meldon Road on Sunday, a dog walker approached after coming from the same footpath and asked if police had been looking for a white hamster.
Officers then discovered a second guinea pig had also been dumped.
The guinea pigs were subsequently rehomed.
