IF you catch the Royal Variety Performance on ITV later this month you may be forgiven for thinking at least two of the comedians look vaguely familiar.
Peter Kay and Jason Manford are, of course, household names but two of the lesser known acts - New Zealand’s The Boy With Tape On His Face and Manchester’s Steve Shanyaski have both appeared in Lancaster in recent weeks.
Both acts starred at The Borough’s regular Comedy Club.
So don’t miss the Dalton Square pub’s latest comedy night this Sunday (December 18) because you never know, you might see a star of tomorrow!
“I first saw ‘Tape Face’ (aka Sam Wills) about four years ago when he first arrived in the UK and immediately knew he was the sort of act I wanted at my nights,” said Borough promoter, Rob Riley.
“I’m also delighted for Steve, who appeared at my first ever show 10 years ago.
“Although he’s been rated by the industry for years it’s only his barnstorming appearance on ITV’s ‘Jason Manford’s Comedy Rocks’ a few months ago that put him into the public eye.”
