YOU will get to have your say on whether the Venus and Cupid statue on the promenade should be saved.
Morecambe Town Council has agreed to begin a public consultation over the future of the sculpture.
Venus and Cupid, the model of a woman swinging her baby at Scalestones Point near Morecambe Golf Club, is under threat because its licence has expired.
Artist Shane Johnstone and campaigners have been canvassing for either the town council or Lancaster City Council to pay for a new licence.
The town council agreed to defer a decision on the Venus and Cupid sculpture and consult the public on the understanding that Lancaster City Council were currently considering the future use of the land occupied by the sculpture.
