David’s Diary: Potential marina on the cards?

On Friday I met with a senior representative of the Environment Agency.

I wanted to discuss a potential marina here in Morecambe.

There are many meetings ahead and lots of discussions to be had but I am encouraged by what I have heard so far and I know from my mail bag that a marina in Morecambe would be popular.

Last week Dr Daniel Poulter, the Health Minister, visited the constituency.

On Thursday morning Dr Dan visited the new Health Centre in Heysham. He had a tour of the centre where he met patients and staff.

Dr Dan then visited the new same day centre in Morecambe. The minister was very impressed by what he saw both in Morecambe and Heysham.

Thank you to Dr Gaw, chair of Lancashire North Clinical Commissioning Group and GP at Coastal Medical Group, who gave the minister a guided tour and thank you to all of the patients and staff at both centres for making Dr Dan and I so welcome.

I was pleased to discover that the West End will receive a minimum of £1m in new funding from the Big Lottery. Feel free to contact me if you require any further information.

As Christmas Day is next Tuesday, I would like to take this opportunity to wish the readers of The Visitor a very merry Christmas and a happy new year.
