On Friday, I visited Morecambe Bay Community Primary School. A new re-build was unveiled costing over £5m.

It was great to see the new facilities including a new media suite.

I was also pleased to meet Beckie Kershaw who gave a talk to pupils and showed off some of her photographs that she took during the Olympics. I am sure she has inspired the young people.

On the same day I was also pleased to meet the Lancashire Fire and Rescue Princes Trust volunteers, who did their final presentations at the Globe Arena. Well done to all of the young people who participated.

Last week was a busy week in Parliament; I tabled a debate about BBC accountability and also met with the Speaker of the Isle of Man House of Keys to discuss proposals for new wind farms out in the Irish sea.

I do not want shipping to have to navigate around a wall of wind farms. I have also tabled a Parliamentary motion on this subject.

Recently, I had the pleasure of turning on the Christmas lights in Lincoln Close, Westgate with John ‘Gilly’ Gilmore from BBC Radio Lancashire. It must be said that Ian Clifton who organised the event and does so every year is an asset to our community. He has raised thousands of pounds for charity.

Well done Ian and I would urge you to have a look at Lincoln Close as you will be impressed. Ian is raising funds for Derian House in Chorley. Derian House helps children from all over the North West.
