The third round of bidding for Coastal Communities funding has now opened, there is a total pot of £64 Million available during 2014–2017 to charities, voluntary and community sector organisations, social enterprises, local authorities, local enterprise partnerships and private companies.
The Government has made funding available of amounts more than £50,000 for projects lasting longer than two years exclusively to coastal communities such as ours.

Previously the Morecambe Bay Partnership have been allocated coastal communities funding for projects that will benefit Morecambe, Heysham and tourism across the whole of Morecambe Bay.
Wednesday will be an important day this week, on Wednesday the Chancellor will announce this year’s budget and I will be listening carefully to the announcement. People often ask me to speculate as to what the Chancellor will say – even though he visited Morecambe and Lunesdale a few weeks ago I wait to hear the announcement on Wednesday like everyone else.

Just last week, I was pleased to receive confirmation that Hornby Swimming Pool will not close.
A number of constituents have contacted me in recent months worried about the prospect of the pool’s closure so it is good that I have received confirmation from the council that they plan to keep it open.
