Darts players hit bullseye

A ladies darts team from the Starwell Guest House in Morecambe threw an extra special Christmas party thanks to a festive boost from The Co-operative Food.

Irene Wright, one of the team members, entered the food retailer’s competition for community groups from across the country to a win a party pack full of seasonal essentials.

Filled with crackers, papers plates, cups, balloons, napkins and tablecloths, the packs also contained £100 of vouchers to spend at The Co-operative Food on Christmas treats and nibbles.

Irene’s entry impressed the judges with its party spirit and plans to give mums the chance to have a drink and a natter before the busy Christmas week commences.

She collected the party park from Sean Louthrey, store manager at her local Co-operative Food store on Regent Road.

The Co-operative Food provided a £10,000 festive fund to support 100 community groups make sure their Christmas parties go with a bang this year.

The Co-operative judges were inundated with entries from every corner of the UK.

Irene said: “It really is the season of goodwill.

“We are all absolutely over the moon to receive a seasonal party pack from The Co-operative.

“These goodies really will go a long way in making sure our team has a very merry Christmas indeed.”
