A motorist was left shocked after he was the victim of a road rage incident.

Police said that 11.15am on April 30, a car was following two cyclists on Moss Lane, Thurnham, Lancaster.

The cyclists pulled into a lay-by, presumably to let the car past.

As the car passed, he had to swerve to avoid another car coming in the opposite direction, narrowly avoiding the cyclists.

The cyclists were then verbally abusive to the driver of the car.

The car driver stopped to make sure everything was alright, and one of the cyclists then allegedly grabbed the car driver’s arm and tried to pull him out of the car.

The cyclist allegedly threatened to kick the driver’s head in, find out where he lives and burn his house down.

The car driver stayed in his car and managed to take a picture of one of the cyclists before they rode off.

PC Faye Tinker and PC John Bradshaw, from Lancaster & Morecambe Police said: “We would appeal to the public in order to provide any information in regards to the identification of the cyclist.

“The car driver and passenger were on holiday in the area and were shocked and traumatised by the incident.

“This is not the image we wish to leave with people visiting the area and we would like to speak to the cyclists to obtain their version of events.”
