A man was punched in the face repeatedly by two yobs who threatened to throw him into a dyke.
Police said the 50-year-old victim was walking along the cycle track past the Trimpell Club and the bowling green in Morecambe when he was grabbed from behind by two men who repeatedly punched him in the face.
The two men then ran off towards Schola Green Lane.
The first attacker, who police believe led the assault, was described as in his 20s, white, with short, cropped, brown hair, wearing a dark hooded jacket with stripes and blue jeans.
The second yob was white, in his late 20s, 6ft2, slim build, wearing a dark coloured, lightweight jacket.
The victim required treatment for a swollen eye, split lip and bruising to his face.
The assault, described by police as ‘nasty’ happened at 8.20pm on October 30.
