Gun owners will be visited unannounced by police as part of a national crime prevention campaign.
Lancashire Constabulary is calling for firearms owners to make sure that their guns are being kept securely.
From Wednesday, October 15, police officers in Lancashire, as well as across the country, will be visiting firearms owners to speak with them about security and crime prevention.
One stolen or lost gun is still too many and it is this concern which has led to a change in the Home Office guidance that now allows police to make unannounced visits where there are concerns about security and risk.
Call police on 101.
