A PAEDOPHILE who preyed on four boys by giving them treats in return for sexual favours has been jailed indefinitely.

Peter Barber, 63, was told by a judge there was no means of knowing if he would ever be a safe person to live in the community.

He will have to serve at least six years prison before he can be considered for possible parole.

The defendant, from Sandylands Promenade, Heysham, Morecambe appeared for sentence at Preston Crown Court after a jury earlier convicted him of a total of nineteen sex abuse charges including indecency with a child and sexual activity with a child.

Some of the offences dated back a number of years. The court heard how he befriended young boys, took them out on trips, allowed them to drink and smoke at his home and offered them money for sexual favours.
