Morecambe holiday camp worker jailed for sexual assaults

A HOLIDAY camp worker has been jailed for 10 years for a string of sex assaults against boys.

Thomas Devine, 62, who worked at the former Morecambe Pontin’s resort, befriended families so he could abuse their sons.

Exeter Crown Court heard he used threats to silence his victims, who suffered 20 years of nightmares and flashbacks.

One of his two victims wept with relief as a jury found him guilty of a string of sex assaults, including male rape.

He said: “I don’t have words to describe how I feel. I feel as if the weight of 20 years has been lifted off me. I’m glad he finally got what he deserves and I hope he rots in hell.”
