Detectives investigating an alleged rape in Lancaster have issued an e-fit of a man they want to trace.
A 23-year-old University of Cumbria student said she was attacked while walking home from a night out on Ashton Road.
It happened between midnight and 2.30am on Monday, March 3, after the woman asked her attacker for directions.
Detective Inspector Richard McCutcheon, of Lancashire Police, said: “We have a team of detectives working on the case and specially trained officers supporting the victim.
“I would ask people to take a close look at this e-fit and, if anybody recognises the man or has any information at all that they think could assist the investigation, please contact us.
“Specifically, I’m still keen to hear from anybody that may have witnessed someone acting suspiciously in the Bridge Road or Ashton Road area of Lancaster between the hours of midnight and 2:30am on Monday, March 3.
“Even the smallest piece of information could be crucial so we would urge anyone to call 101 if they have any information.”
The man is described as white, aged in his early 20s with wavy hair, about five feet ten inches tall and of average build.
