A 10-YEAR-OLD girl suffered a suspected fractured cheekbone after being deliberately kicked in the face by another child at a new play park in Heysham village.

Chelsea Lloyd-Hartley had to be taken to hospital for an x-ray after a fight broke out over who was using the play equipment. Later it emerged that her attacker was a nine-year-old girl, who is under the age of criminal responsibility.

Chelsea, of Carr Lane, said: “I went with the boy next door and there was a group of 10 other children.

“I was on the spinning teacup and had just started a game, when the girls were pulling me off.

“I kicked out in self-defence and the other girl was punching me in the back.

“I started walking home, then they followed me and dragged me to the floor with my hair.

“The other girl kicked me in the face with her hard trainer.

“I’m just really angry and upset.”
