THREE Southend United players “breached club discipline” in their team hotel before Saturday’s game against Morecambe.
According to a club statement, Shrimpers manager Paul Sturrock only found out after the match about the incident involving Liam Dickinson, Kane Ferdinand and Ryan Hall on Friday night.
The nature of the incident is not known but it is believed the players were staying at the Lancaster House Hotel.
Dickinson and Hall started in Morecambe’s 1-0 victory. Ferdinand was an unused substitute.
The statement read: “The manager learned after Saturday’s match at Morecambe that there had been a breach of discipline on Friday night at the team hotel by three members of his squad.
“The individuals were Liam Dickinson, Kane Ferdinand and Ryan Hall whose conduct was unacceptable to the club’s management.”
