A mother who acted as a chauffeur for a woman involved in a £2m drugs ring has had her jail term cut.
Angela Pinwanee Dixon drove drug dealer Lisa Marshall backwards and forwards between Morecambe and Keighley five times over two months so Marshall could collect heroin from her supplier.
Dixon, 26, of Edenvale Crescent, Morecambe, was jailed for three years at Preston Crown Court in March after admitting conspiracy to supply the class A drug and possessing a small amount of cannabis.
But her sentence was cut to two-and-a-half years by judges sitting at London’s Criminal Appeal Court– who said the reduction was an ‘act of mercy’ because of the effect her incarceration will have on her and her one-year-old daughter.
The drugs supply ring shifted 2kg of heroin – with a street value of around £2m – across the Pennines.
