A LICENSEE has apologised for incidents of anti-social behaviour at his bar.
Daniel Binnie admitted that mistakes had been made at Swank, on Penny Street, which was recently shut for 28 days by Lancaster City Council’s licensing committee after an application by police.
The request followed two separate violent incidents in December in which a man was kicked unconscious outside the premises and another man had his jaw broken while he was in the bar’s toilets.
Police said they had been called to 30 incidents at the bar over the past 12 months.
Nine related to anti-social behaviour, five related to assaults and one related to a drugs offence after which a 17-year-old was arrested on suspicion of possessing class A drugs.
