CARNFORTH Rangers have moved a step closer to realising their dream of rebuilding the football club.

In July mindless vandals wrecked the club’s changing rooms, ripped off roof slates and smashed up toilets.

But after hard work from club officials and generous donations from the community Rangers have submitted a planning application for new facilities at their Quarry Road site.

According to club secretary Steve Smith the club are close to reaching their target of raising £70,000 for the work which would include a new clubhouse, changing area and replacement floodlights for their around 250 players, of which some 200 are children.
