Police were called after cannabis plants were seen being loaded into a van.

Forty mature cannabis plants and cultivation equipment were discovered at an address on Park Street in Bare on Tuesday night after an eagle-eyed resident spotted the plants being put in a van.

Two men were arrested at the scene and taken into custody.

*Adam Burke, 35, of White Lund Road, Morecambe has been charged with producing cannabis, a Class B controlled drug and abstracting or using electricity without authority. He appeared at Lancaster Magistrates Court on November 27 and was given conditional bail not to enter Park Street in Bare and to live and sleep at White Lund Road, Morecambe. He is due to stand trial at Preston Crown Court on December 23.

Joseph O’Brien, 32, of Lullington Crossroads, Derbyshire, was charged with producing cannabis, a Class B controlled drug and abstracting or using electricity without authority. He is due to appear at Lancaster Magistrates on December 15.
