Volunteer Police and Fire Service Cadet Leaders from across the country headed to Lancashire for the first ever National Volunteer Cadet Leaders Conference.

The conference was officially opened by Baroness Helen Newlove, with the Chief Constable of Lancashire Constabulary, Steve Finnigan, the Assistant Police and Crime Commissioner for Lancashire, Amanda Webster, the High Sheriff of Lancashire, Barry Johnson, and Garry Oakford, the group manager for Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service, also in attendance.

The Constabulary runs nine schemes for cadets 13-15 year olds and senior cadets 15-18 year olds.
