Bingo burglar got taxi to and from the scene

A thief who arrived at a bingo hall in a taxi stole cash then left in the same vehicle.

Police have released CCTV images of a man they wish to speak to following the burglary at Gala Bingo in Morecambe.

Police said a man went into Gala Bingo, Marine Road East, Morecambe after apparently arriving as a passenger in a taxi, waited until the reception was unmanned, then made his way behind the staff counter and helped himself to cash in the tills.

He then left the premises, boarding the same taxi that then drove off the forecourt.

The description of the man is white , in his late 40s or early 50s, average build, cropped or shaven grey hair, wearing a black jacket with grey hood or collar over a dark blue top, dark trousers or jeans with either camouflage or paint on them and red/brown shoes.

PC Ryan Van Delft, from Lancaster and Morecambe Police, said: “We would ask the public to study the images released and I would urge anybody that recognises the male to get in contact with us.”

The burglary happened at 5.20pm on February 4,
