Lancashire’s Police and Crime Commissioner spent the morning in the cells to see first-hand the work being done by the county’s Independent Custody Visitors (ICVs).

Dozens of volunteers across the county give up their time to be ICVs – visiting each and every one of the county’s custody suites and reporting back to the Commissioner on the health and welfare of the people they find there.

Clive Grunshaw said: “I am extremely appreciative of the vital role being played by ICVs in Lancashire. The work they do is extremely important when it comes to reassuring everyone those in custody aretreated fairly.”
