THE pub licensee who wants to re-open Crystal Ts nightclub and Oscar's bar in Morecambe is set to take over Concorde Squash Club too.
Chris Fearnley, who also runs QT's bar on Edward Street with his partner Shelby Walker, said he will keep Concorde as a squash club and gym, plans to install new fitness equipment and snooker tables, and hopes to start fitness classes at the Victoria Street club.
Last week The Visitor reported that Concorde was set to close after more than 25 years in business.
Manager Andrew Tague said the club had not been paying its way and planned to shut on July 31.
Since then the club has already closed down due to a problem with the hot water boiler.
But Chris Fearnley said he intends to re-open Concorde on August 1 – with a permanent manager on site to run it – and has asked all previous members to get in touch at QT's bar on Edward Street.
He also said work was due to start on renovating Crystal T's and Oscars ready for re-opening by the end of 2008.
