Morecambe grants are on the table

The Poppy Scatter is one of the organisations to receive a Morecambe Town Council grant.

The Poppy Scatter is one of the organisations to receive a Morecambe Town Council grant.

Morecambe Town Council will help pay for a table tennis table, an iPad and advertising a World War One centenary event.

These and other local causes will benefit from town council grants this year, it has been announced. The parish council has awarded £500 to Morecambe Foyer to help pay for young adults to enter a Duke of Edinburgh award, £500 towards a shower room for CEEP Ltd, £500 towards Families@Five monthly family sessions, £350 towards a table tennis table at 1st Morecambe and Heysham Boys Brigade, £500 towards stage lighting at Morecambe Road School’s Christmas play, £500 towards advertising the WW1 centenary Poppy Scatter, £500 to N-Compass North West health trainer service, £500 towards an iPad for Lancaster and Morecambe Athletics Club to help with coaching, £500 to Lancaster and District Canoe Club towards training for coaches, £500 to Positive Futures North West to develop an arts and craft course for people with mental health issues, and £500 to Red Rose Community Projects towards a new bathroom to be used in training beauty therapists.
