Crowds grin and Bare it at rain-soaked festival

Waiting for Video...

Heavy rain failed to dampen spirits as the people of Bare turned out in force to celebrate the pleasures of village life.

The annual Barefest saw hundreds visit Princes Crescent and Bare Lane to join in a colourful afternoon of fun and a parade through the streets.

Susan Bray, former school teacher and city councillor, took on the role of Lord Mayor of Bare for the second successive year. She was joined in the parade by Morecambe Band, the Happy Feet School of Dance, Bare and District W.I. , Bare Brownies, Morecambe Amateurs, Morecambe Warblers, the local Sea Cadets and many other organisations.

Amie Lavercombe, Miss Teen Morecambe, was also at the event.
