This week I launched my new constituency wide survey and I am keen to know your thoughts about living and working here in Morecambe and Lunesdale.
It only takes a few minutes to fill in and you can do it from the comfort of your own home online.
I’ll be asking questions such as how the Heysham M6 Link Road will impact daily life and how employment opportunities can be improved in the area.
Please take a look at www.letdavidknow.co.uk for more details and I will look forward to reading your response.
I was pleased to spend most of Friday morning at the RLI, huge thank you to the staff and patients for making me so welcome.
It was nice to speak to so many patients and to hear their experience of being treated at the RLI.
One particular gentleman who was receiving treatment in Oncology told me how good the staff are.
The nursing staff told me that there is more laughter than tears in oncology which for me was very poignant. I was also pleased to speak to staff on Ward 39, in Accident and Emergency, on the maternity ward and on the children’s ward too.
When the Chancellor visited White Lund and Bare recently, one of the things he announced was that businesses will benefit from a £2,000 tax break on their employee National Insurance contributions per employee, this new tax break comes into force this week and will benefit lots of businesses here in Morecambe and Lunesdale.
The personal allowance also rises to £10,000 this week, it will rise to £10,500 next year which is something the Chancellor announced during the budget.
As the summer approaches I am putting the plans together for this year’s summer tour.
If you have a summer fair or similar event taking place, please do let me know.
Please remember the deadline for expressions of interest for the Coastal Communities Fund is April 30, 2014. You can find more information on my website www.davidmorrismp.co.uk, there is a total of £64 Million available.
