On Saturday morning I hosted street surgeries in Bare.
Thank you to everyone who took the time out of their day. I had some very useful discussions.
My street surgeries are an important aspect of my work because it is an opportunity to speak to constituents on their own street and at their own front door about issues that matter.
Very often when an idea is raised at a street surgery, I can go away and use the suggestions for future campaigns. If you would like to have a street surgery near where you live, please send me an e-mail via my website with details of your address and I will do my best to make some arrangements.
Parliament returns this week after a short recess and later this week I am looking forward to welcoming students and staff from Lancaster & Morecambe College. They will be taking a tour of Parliament and will be watching Prime Minister’s Questions.
We have received some good news: I am pleased that Lancashire County Council has now taken a U-turn on bus funding. I would urge you to continue to sign my petition which I will present to Parliament. At the same time, I would encourage you to write to your local county councillor to ensure they know your views on the funding of bus services. You can find my petition online or if it’s easier you can telephone my office to sign the petition.
My next advice surgery is on Friday March 7. If you would like to book an appointment please contact my office for more details – contact details below.
In the coming weeks, I plan to launch a business breakfast. The idea is to invite local business leaders to network and to discuss all things business. If your business is interested in taking part, please contact me. I see it as an ideal opportunity for our local businesses to network especially with the Heysham M6 Link Road already under construction.
If you require my help or advice, my address is Office 204 Riverway House, Morecambe Road, Skerton LA1 2RX. Email me via my website www.davidmorrismp.co.uk or my phone number is 01524 841225.
