I THINK it shows how far we have come in recent months that we were all bitterly disappointed with a home draw against an in form Bristol side on Saturday.
If someone had offered us four points from that game and our trip to Port Vale there is no doubt we would have taken it. Having said that we all know football doesn’t work like that and we definitely had enough chances to ensure all three points. We totally dominated proceedings in the first-half and could have easily gone in three or four up at the break. Jack scored an excellent goal and but for some good saves from the visiting keeper could have had a hat-trick. We spoke at half-time about the need to start the second-half brightly but unfortunately we did completely the opposite. We gave them a sniff in a game that they really had no foothold in. But despite our disappointment we did not lose the game and that is the most important thing.
We’ve got ourselves into a decent league position of late but there’s no way we will or can afford to take our foot off the pedal. Burton are absolutely flying of late and we will need to produce the same type of performance as at Vale Park to get something from the game.
It was great to see two of our young exciting talents signing new deals for next season. The Little Mexican (Jack Redshaw) showed exactly what he is all about at the weekend with the way he tore their defence apart. And everybody is buzzing with the way Ryan Williams has started his Morecambe career. The way that he strikes the ball at goal is every keeper’s nightmare. And he’s showed in the last two games that he can do it with either foot. The more games he gets under his belt the better he will become.
