Children from a Morecambe school took part in a litter pick in a bid to spruce up the town.
Morecambe Town Council has been working hard with its campaign against the problems caused by the amount of litter within the town.
To help with the education of children, the Town Council has been working with local schools on litter picks in areas that the school feels needs tidying up.
Staff and children of Morecambe Bay Primary School kindly agreed to undertake a litter pick on Poulton play park.
The majority of children selected to participate with the litter pick lived in the area and regularly used the park.
The school felt that by those children being involved it would teach them to acknowledge and care for their surrounding more, with a view to them instigating other residents and visitors to follow suit.
Amy Kemp, eight, said: “I couldn’t believe how much rubbish there was. I play in the park most days after school and it will be a much nicer place to play now.”
