A man who was investigated by police over an allegation that was never proceeded with was found to have downloaded child pornography onto his home computer.

Graeme Davies, 45, formerly of Cliburn, near Penrith, but now living in Carnforth, admitted seven charges relating to the images on his PC. Prosecutor Tim Evans told the court that the defendant, who has learning difficulties, had downloaded 70 level one images – legally the least serious category of child porn. He also had six images of the more serious categories three and four. Davies told police he had been curious. At Carlisle Crown Court, where he appeared for sentence, Davies was put on the Sex Offenders’ Register for seven years. Judge Paul Batty QC imposed a two-year supervision order and banned the defendant from working with children.His PC will be monitored.
