A man has been jailed for life for the brutal murder of a pub chef.
Jamie Lee Armstrong denied murdering Luke Hollingsworth, who formerly worked at Wetherspoons pubs in Morecambe and Lancaster, but was found guilty after a lengthy trial.
Armstrong, 21, from Warwick Road, Carlisle, will serve a minimum of 25 years.
Police were called to a property on Etterby Lea Road, Carlisle, on July 10, 2013 and found Mr Hollingsworth dead and Mr Armstrong with serious injuries.
Carlisle Crown Court heard Mr Hollingsworth had suffered wounds to his back, head and eyes.
Mr Hollingsworth’s mother Jill, a pub landlady said: ‘This has had a devastating effect on my family and me but I can now rest with the thought that Jamie Armstrong has been brought to justice for the murder of my much-loved son.
‘He was a beautiful young man to his dad and I.”
