“I LIVE in Burnley and can walk 200 yards and get a pint of my own beer.”
Nick Taylor is a happy man as the head brewer at Cross Bay Brewery.
As he shows me around the process of producing one of his ales at their premises on White Lund Industrial Estate, he tells of how the company, part of the Morecambe Bay Wines group, has exploded in the short time since its launch at the end of July.
“Witching Hour, our Halloween beer, sold really, really well. To sell what we did in two and a half months is phenomenal. It’ll become permanent in January as it went down so well,” says Nick.
Witching Hour will join the brewery’s main brands, Sunset, Dusk and Nightfall.
Currently to be found at the pump is Aurora, their Christmas beer, with bi-monthly beers to coincide with the London Olympics and the Diamond Jubilee amongst other things to be released during 2012.
