LAST week we had a look at thyroid health and how boosting it may help your attempts to lose weight.
This week I want to take a look at another reason why people may struggle to lose weight – sugar or more precisely, how your body deals with sugar.
When you eat sugar your body produces insulin.
It is the job of insulin to get the sugar into your cells.
Basically, insulin is the mother telling the cells to eat their dinner!
But sometimes, due to stress, a high sugar diet, high intake of tea, coffee or alcohol, or certain nutrient deficiencies, the cells do not do as they are told.
They fail to respond to the production of insulin, so the sugar is instead stored in your fat cells.
