Body of man in his 40s found in Lancaster Canal

Emergency services were called to the canal close to Wolseley Street, Lancaster at around 7am, after a member of the public spotted a body in the water.
The body was recovered from the canal and paramedics were called to the scene, where the man was pronounced dead.

Hide AdLancashire Police say the cause of death is currently unknown, but say it is not being treated as suspicious.
The force said a post-mortem examination will take place to establish exactly how the man has died.
Screens were put in place along the towpath whilst an initial investigation took place, with a police cordon from the Moor Lane bridge to the Wolseley Street/Shaw Street bridge.
A police spokesman said: "We were called around 7am today (Thursday March 25) to a report of a sudden death in Lancaster.
