There was also an outstanding achievement award presented to chairman of Morecambe in Bloom, Beryl Spelling. Beryl said: “We were all delighted with our Silver Gilt award for the town. The Gold Medal winners were Lytham who have just won the ‘Champion of Champions’ award at the National Britain in Bloom Competition.

“It is a huge incentive for us to carry on with the work we do in Morecambe. I have to thank everyone who contributed to our success, whether it was a community project or even a single hanging basket it all helps beautify the town and make it a place to be proud of.”
