MORECAMBE’S Beachbash festival rocked the town and attracted visitors from across the UK over the bank holiday weekend.
It was the second time that the event – featuring great 60s, 70s and 80s tribute acts – had taken place in Morecambe.
Bev Williams as Kylie Minogue launched the four-day festival on Friday night with an astonishing five costume changes in her one hour set.
Eddie Robbins as Billy Fury, Yvonne Haylen as Cher and Bob Baxter as Roy Orbison ensured that the large promenade audience had a vast selection of swingin’ sixties hits to enjoy in the sunshine on Saturday afternoon.
The show moved inside on Sunday as the exquisite voice of Karen Carpenter was delivered by the much travelled Rhapsody In Blue to another standing room only crowd, showcasing such timeless hits as Goodbye To Love, Close To You and Rainy Days and Mondays, they showed the true artistry and beauty of the Carpenters’ classic hits.
