Have your say

It was another great away day for us at Gigg Lane on Saturday.

Bury are a team who have struggled a little bit on their return to League 2 but after looking at their squad list before the game I dont think they will be down the wrong end of the table for long.

They have a lot of decent, experienced professionals in their ranks but I think they have taken a little longer than expected to gel as a team.

That really isn’t surprising given the turn around in players they had over the summer.

We had to weather the storm at times but we were very resolute in our defending and limited The Shakers to very few clear cut chances.

On a difficult pitch we didnt really play the most attractive type of football but we were effective in what we did.

And when you have a set piece specialist like Ryan Williams in your side then you’re always in with a chance. The way he struck that free kick and the dip and swerve he put on the ball made it impossible for the keeper to judge the flight of it.

From my view point right behind the strike I knew it was in as soon as it left his boot.

We probably dropped a little deep in the closing stages of the game inviting pressure on us without really being overly threatened.

Then what a time for Big Tony to open his Shrimps account.

The feeling of relief when the ball nestled in the bottom corner was brilliant.

I wouldn’t mind but I was screaming at him and Flem to keep the ball in the corner and waste a bit more time.
