It was very important for us to get back to winning ways at Burton on Saturday.

After a couple of really disappointing results and obviously one of those being against Accrington we knew we had to arrest the mini slump sooner rather than later.

Burton were very much one of the league’s in-form sides but we limited them to just a couple of chances over the 90 minutes and that was very pleasing.

It’s a ground where we haven’t fared very well over the years and have conceded a lot of goals so we were all over the moon to come away with a clean sheet to go home with three valuable points.

Ryan’s (Williams) goal was very much a fluke but we couldn’t care in the slightest about that and he will more than happily claim it every bit as much as the usual wonder strikes he scores for us.

Another plus for everyone at the club was the return of our Little Mexican Jack Redshaw.

He’s been looking really sharp in training and it gave everyone a massive lift having him firstly back involved on the training pitch and then in the closing stages at the weekend.

Chris Mac (McCready) has just started back in training which was great to see after his horrible injury.

Add the return of Marshy (Marcus Marshall) and we suddenly are looking at a much healthier squad.

There will be even more competition for places now but I’m sure the gaffer will welcome the selection headache that it will bring.
