Police are hunting a thief who stole a charity box from prayer rooms at Lancaster University campus.
The theft of the charity box, containing an unknown amount of cash, occurred between Thursday, June 19 and Saturday, June 21, police said.
PC Paul Rooke, of Lancaster University Police, said: “The fact that somebody would do such a thing angers me as this is money that would have been used to help those in need and that had been donated by a great number of people.
“My utter disgust is furthermore added to by the fact that this has occurred in a religous premises.
“Anyone with information that could help identify who has done this please call 101 quoting log number LC-20140622-0931.”
