Antiques shop chimes with the time

Two grandfather clocks from a Morecambe antiques shop are on their way to the set of ITV smash hit Downton Abbey.

Northern Relics has struck a deal with a TV agent to supply the clocks for programmes including the period drama starring Maggie Smith. One clock was made in 1890 and worth £1,500, while the other is dated 1920 and valued at £950.

Meanwhile the seafront dealer is gearing up for a new arrival, a life-size stuffed lion worth around £8,000, property of Heysham businessman and antiques dealer Fred Edmondson.

Northern Relics already stocks life-size metal giraffes and giant models of a gorilla, Indiana Jones and the Grim Reaper.
