REMEMBER when The Woolpackers did the Hillbilly Rock and the Hillbilly Roll?

Believe it or not, it was more than 15 years ago when a team of soap stars from Emmerdale formed a country rock group and became the UK’s most unlikely chart stars.

Now one of the driving forces behind The Woolpackers is coming to Morecambe with his new rock ‘n’ roll band.

Alun Lewis, famed for playing Vic Windsor in the ITV soap, is now part of Chuck Wagon, who will appear at the Ranch House bar on the promenade this Saturday night (May 26).

Alun also played Darryl Stubbs, the husband of Linda Robson’s character, in hit BBC comedy Birds of a Feather.

The live music continues at the Ranch this Sunday night (May 27) when dynamic metal covers band The Bottlenecks make their first appearance at the pub.

Admission to both gigs is free.
