When I go and talks to some of the town’s local groups I always ask what subject people would like me to cover. Without fail, every time, I am asked to cover natural ways to support the joints and help reduce the pain of arthritis.
So I thought that over the next few weeks I would try and cover that obviously popular topic in this column. I am going to look at maintaining and supporting the health of the joint and the natural remedies which people tell us have helped them with their mobility and pain.
This week is all about maintenance though. This is an important consideration, after all anyone with arthritis will know it tends to get worse. Anything we can do to try and slow that process down is surely a good thing.
There are two main nutrients involved in the maintenance of joint tissue, glucosamine and MSM. Many people will have heard of glucosamine for joint health, but may not be clear on exactly what it is meant to do.
Less people have heard of MSM so will not be aware that when it comes to joint support it could actually be as important to consider as glucosamine itself.
Glucosamine and MSM are both natural substances, which should be produced by the body every time you walk, stair climbing, run, jump or exercise, to repair any damage that may have been done.
Unfortunately, as we get older, the amount of MSM and glucosamine being produced does not always keep up with the amount of damage that is being done. As a result arthritic wear and tear can start to develop.
Topping up these nutrients then should help to support joints and hopefully slow down the deterioration that people tend to suffer with arthritis. They will not really act as a natural anti-inflammatory though, so if you are also looking for something that may offer a natural anti-inflammatory action as well as the joint protective actions of glucosamine and MSM, then look for Lambert’s Glucosamine Complete.
Lambert’s Glucosamine Complete is a firm favourite in the shop as it provides good levels of glucosamine with MSM plus three natural anti-inflammatory ingredients – ginger, rose hip and quercertin.
This means that this product could be helpful with both relieving some of the discomfort of arthritis as well as supporting the health and maintenance of the joints.
We have had some fantastic feedback on the Lambert’s Glucosamine Complete, from a young football player who swears that it helped his injury heal to an older gentleman who believes that Glucosamine Complete has helped keep him mobile and active over the last few years.
