Mr James Edward Ainsworth, only son of Mr Steve Ainsworth of Ashton-in-Makerfield and Mrs Dawn Coates of Bolton-le-Sands, and Miss Laura Ann Johnson, only daughter of Mr and Mrs Kevin and Ann Johnson of Slyne-with-Hest, were married at St Luke’s Church, Slyne-with-Hest.

The bridegroom works for Kudos Shower Products and the bride works for Lancashire Constabulary.

Given away by her father, Mr Kevin Johnson, the bride wore an ivory Amanda Wyatt gown with a lace and beaded bodice, a straight neckline with scalloped edging and a satin waistband flowing into a diagonally tiered organza skirt. S

he also wore a tiara and cathedral veil with diamante detail and carried a bouquet of vintage style, hand-tied sweet avalanche, metalina ivory roses, interspersed with white gypsophila, and pearl and diamante studs inside each rose finished with a lace bow.

Bridesmaids were Becky Grigg, Lindsay Stretch and Anthea Crossley. They wore mink organza tea-length dresses with ivory beaded detail, and carried hand-tied bouquets of pale pink hydrangeas and white gypsophila bound with ivory lace.

Flower girls were Georgia Cowper (niece) and Isabella Stretch, and the pageboy was Oliver Cowper (nephew).

Child attendant was the bride and groom’s god-daughter Gracie George, aged 22 months.

Best man was Mr Andi George, and Messrs Keith Richardson and Guy Coates were groomsmen.

Reception: Lancaster House Hotel.

Honeymoon: Zante, Greece, where the couple got engaged.

Future home: Lancaster.
